Description
The 124-foot Turks & Caicos Explorer II is a purpose-built liveaboard that has spent decades introducing divers to the Caribbean’s most dramatic vertical walls. Accommodating 20 guests in ten en-suite, air-conditioned staterooms — from twin-bunk cabins on the lower deck to spacious VIP staterooms with queen beds and TVs on the boat deck — the vessel offers a climate-controlled salon, a shaded sun deck with a wet-bar flybridge, and a fully equipped dive deck complete with camera table, charging station, nitrox fill station, and individual gear storage. Departing weekly from Providenciales on an eight-day, seven-night circuit, the Explorer II threads together Providenciales, West Caicos, and French Cay, where sheer coral-encrusted walls plunge from shallow reef crests into the blue, drawing eagle rays, reef sharks, and, in season, migrating humpback whales. The daily rhythm delivers up to five dives — two morning, two afternoon, and a night dive — for divers who want to maximize bottom time without the hassle of shore logistics. Caribbean water temperatures here run from a cool-season 24-26°C (74-78°F) up to a summer 28-29°C (82-84°F), air temperatures stay in the 25-31°C (77-88°F) range, and visibility regularly tops 25-30 meters, especially during the calm, clear December-to-May high season, well ahead of the June-November hurricane season.
