Among Indonesia’s newer generation of luxury phinisi, Tiare pairs the romance of a traditional two-masted sailing yacht with genuinely boutique comfort. Measuring 36.5 metres on deck (45.6 metres overall) with a 9.3-metre beam, she’s powered by a Yanmar turbo-diesel engine and cruises at a leisurely 10 knots, giving guests time to savour the journey between dive sites. Only six cabins, each a generous 15 square metres and finished in warm recycled teak, host a maximum of 12 guests — an intimate ratio that translates into fine dining, individually adjustable air conditioning, en-suite bathrooms, and genuinely personal service throughout the voyage. Tiare cruises year-round across eastern Indonesia’s most celebrated and remote archipelagos, from the dragon-guarded walls of Komodo National Park to the current-fed pinnacles of Alor, the volcanic Banda Sea, the little-visited Forgotten Islands, and the biodiversity capital of Raja Ampat. Conditions across this vast, island-studded region are consistently inviting, with water temperatures of roughly 27–30°C and visibility commonly reaching 20–30 metres in dry-season months; because Indonesia’s monsoon patterns shift the best window by area — Raja Ampat favours October to April, while Komodo and the Banda Sea favour the drier months from May onward — Tiare’s flexible, multi-region itineraries let guests chase ideal conditions almost any time of year.
